New cabbage variety Zahar SP registered at the EU variety list and the National Variety List in Serbia is a result of many years of research and the final result of the Project financed by Innovation fond of the Republic of Serbia.
The main characteristic of this variety is a very high level of sugar and dry matter. Percentage of sugar is between 8 and 9 %, while the average level of sugar in cabbage is about 4 %. From this genotype, the Institute expects more selection of new hybrids increased sugar level.
